- View the page you want to add to your collection of favorite pages.
- On the Favorites menu, choose Add Page To Favorites.
Tips
- You can also choose New Favorite from the Favorites menu to open the Get Info dialog in which you can type the address of the page you want to add to your favorites list.
- When you add a page with frames to your favorites list, choosing that favorite item will show you the page with its frames in the original state. You can add comments to the favorites item to help you remember how to navigate to a particular frame on the page.
- The icons to the left of each favorite item represent what type of protocol that item uses.

Subscribing to a favorite page
- On the Favorites menu, choose Open Favorites.

Add a new folder |
On the Favorites menu, choose New Folder. Folders are useful for organizing pages by topic. For example, you could create a folder
named Art Pages for storing information about art exhibits and reviews. |
Add a divider |
On the Favorites menu, choose New Divider. |

Drag the page, folder, or divider. A black bar indicates where the item will appear when you release the mouse button. |
Get information about a favorite page |
Click the favorite page icon to select it, and then, on the File menu,

- Select the HTML file you want to import.
The imported file appears in a folder with the same name as the file at the bottom of the Favorites window.
Tips
- You can also import a file by dragging it from the Finder to the Favorites window.
- To use your Anarchie Bookmarks, import the Bookmarks file in your Anarchie folder.
- To use your Netscape Navigatorâ„¢ Bookmarks, import the Bookmarks.html file in the System Folder/Preferences/Netscape folder.
- To keep track of your favorite pages, you can organize them into folders.

- To make sure the favorites window is active, click in it.
- On the File menu, choose Export.
- Type a name for the file.
- Choose the location where you want the file to be saved.
Tips
- You can export just the contents of a folder in your favorites list by double-clicking the folder to open it and then choosing Export.
- To keep track of your favorite pages, you can organize them into folders.

When you subscribe to a page, you can use Internet Explorer options to receive notification when the page changes.
- On the Favorites menu, choose Open Favorites.
- The
column is located on the left-side of the favorites window. Click inside the
column beside the favorite to which you want to subscribe. The subscription icon appears beside that favorite page to indicate that it is now a subscribed favorite.
Note
- You can also subscribe to a favorite page by selecting it from the favorites list, and then choosing Get Info from the File menu. In the Get Info dialog box, click the Subscribe tab, and then select the Check This Site For Changes check box.

- On the Favorites menu, choose Open Favorites.
- The
icon appears beside subscribed favorites. Click the
icon associated with the page whose subscription you want to cancel so that the icon disappears.
Note
- You can also cancel a subscription to a favorite page by selecting the page from the favorites list, and then choosing Get Info from the File menu. In the Get Info dialog box, click the Subscribe tab, and then clear the Check This Site For Changes check box.

Viewing the list of updated favorites
- On the Favorites menu, choose Open Favorites.
- The
icon appears beside subscribed pages that have changed since you last visited them.
The
icon appears besides pages that could not be checked for updates.
Notes
- If you don't want to visit an updated subscribed page, and want to remove the
or
icons, double-click the icon to open the Get Info dialog box, and then click Clear.
- To find out why a subscribed page could not be checked, double-click the
icon, to open the Get Info dialog box, and read the subscription messages.

Subscribing to a favorite page
- On the Favorites menu, choose Subscription Options.
- Click the Update tab, and then click the button that corresponds to how often you want Internet Explorer to look for updates to your subscribed pages.
- Click the Notify tab, and then select the check box that corresponds to how you want to be notified of changes.
Note
- You can use the Update Subscriptions command from the Favorites menu to check for updates at any time.
